What is a Learning Management System (LMS)?
An LMS helps you package your class information so it's available to your students, and their parents, online. Do you have a class blog or website? The LMS takes elements of these and brings them to the next level.
Why would you want to use an LMS?
The main reason is easy delivery. It provides an easy way for you to package and deliver information to your students and their parents. This information can be as simple as your class newsletter, homework calendar or assignment rubrics. Once you get the hang of it, the LMS can also deliver elements of your lessons, create assessments, and even collect assignments from students. It can become a one-stop site for all your class information needs.

This page was put together by Cheryl Dawson, Kurt Downes, John Lee and Roselyn Welsh. We're just four regular teachers at St. Anthony Elementary School in Harrow. This is our first year using the LMS, but we're taking part in a collaborative learning community project put on by OECTA and funded by the Ministry of Education. It's been a great experience and we wanted to share it with our fellow teachers! After you're done perusing the site, could you help us out with our project and make sure to fill out our survey? Thanks!
